Free Fall Protection Ladder Competent Person Training

Presented at Department of Labor & Industries Contractor Training Day, this course covers the definition of Competent Person and how to learn the rules that apply to your work place.  The course also:

•  Describes how to identify all fall hazards in the work area through Site Specific Fall Protection Work Plan;

•  Describes the method of fall arrest or fall restraint;

•  Demonstrates the proper procedures for the assembly, maintenance, inspection, and disassembly of the fall protection system to be used;

•  Describes the proper procedures for the handling, storage, and securing of tools and materials;

•  Describes the method of providing overhead protection for workers who may be in, or pass through the area below the worksite;

•  Describes the method for prompt, safe removal of injured workers.

•  Has attendees demonstrate the proper inspection donning, doffing, and fit of personal fall arrest equipment.

•  Informs employees how to recognize ladder hazards and the procedures to minimize these hazards. 

•  Describes the proper construction, use, placement, and care in handling ladders.
